Resolution 2023/67 Moved: Member Lane Ayr Seconded: Member Ann Court That the Bay of Islands-Whangaroa Community Board confirms the decisions contained in the part of the meeting held with public excluded be restated in public meeting as follows:
Funding Applications Item 8.4 a) That the Bay of Islands-Whangaroa Community Board approve the sum of $5,000 (plus GST if applicable) be paid from the Boards Placemaking Fund account to Bay of Islands Animal Rescue Trust for the costs towards fit-out of a desexing caravan, to meet the community outcomes. i) Communities that are healthy, safe, connected and sustainable ii) Proud, vibrant communities lost NOTE: While the Board is sympathetic toward the applicant, they feel this funding lies outside of their remit and should be directed towards Council for ongoing funding through the Long-Term Plan. Bay of Islands-Whangaroa Community Board can then support BOI Animal Rescue submission to the Long-Term Plan process. Funding Applications Item 8.4 b) That the Bay of Islands-Whangaroa Community Board approve the sum of $2,500 (plus GST if applicable) be paid from the Boards Community Fund account to Bay of Islands Community Centre Association Incorporated Society for the costs towards running school holiday workshops in Paihia to meet the community outcomes. i) Communities that are healthy, safe, connected and sustainable ii) Proud, vibrant communities lost NOTE: Lack of programme detail provided and felt the costings were inaccurate and there was a concern about potential conflict of interest. Funding Applications Item 8.4 c) That the Bay of Islands-Whangaroa Community Board approve the sum of $2,500 (plus GST if applicable) be paid from the Boards Community Fund account to Bay of Islands Music Festival Trust for the costs towards Bay of Islands Jazz & Blues Music Festival, to meet the Community Outcomes. i) Communities that are healthy, safe, connected and sustainable ii) Proud, vibrant communities Abstained: Cr Ann Court Carried Funding Applications Item 8.4 d) That the Bay of Islands-Whangaroa Community Board approve the sum of $4,943 (plus GST if applicable) be paid from the Boards Placemaking Fund account to Bay of Islands P&I Association for the costs towards repair of the property driveway, to meet the Community Outcomes. i) Communities that are healthy, safe, connected and sustainable ii) Proud, vibrant communities lost NOTE: Does not align with the funding policy. Funding Applications Item 8.4 l) That the Bay of Islands-Whangaroa Community Board decline the sum of $5,000 (plus GST if applicable) be paid from the Boards Community Fund account to Taonga Oranga Trust for the costs of running Korikori Tinana Manaaki, to meet the Community Outcomes. i) Communities that are healthy, safe, connected and sustainable ii) Proud, vibrant communities NOTE: While the board supports the holistic and aspirational aspects of the application, they feel it would be more appropriately funded from other sources.
